The family Prunellidae includes 1 species found in North America.

Accentors are found in Europe, Asia and Africa. Historically, Accentors were usually treated as a family of thrush-like birds, but DNA hybridization indicates that the accentors are closer to the true sparrows and weavers. The Siberian Accentor is an accidental visitor to North America.
